Meeting Minutes January, 6 2009 |
In attendance: Mike Motherway, Mike Delsesto, Donna Carter, Bruce Ciley, Kristy Blundell,
1.) Bills and financials reviewed.
2.) Estimate of damage to the park during the ice storm, in the amount of $25,000, was obtained from Seacoast Tree. The park trustees question who is responsible for this cost, the town or the trust? Mike M. will bring this before the selectmen at their 1/19/09 meeting.
3.) Discussion of the need for three field managers (soccer, softball, baseball) was held. The park trustees feel these positions would allow for increased compliance with maintenance of equipment (soccer netting, batting cage netting etc...). The park trustees are asking the selectmen to mandate the field manager positions to assist in creating solutions for maintenance of equipment and to provide a contact to the town.
4.) The recreation committee will be overseeing the flooding of the ice rink, by the fire department on Thursday 1/8/09.
5.) The trust voted on, and is recommending to the selectmen, that organic land care practices be implemented at the park. It was agreed upon that PJC ecological will be the primary provider for organic products used.
The trust will be accepting landscaping bids for a three year turf maintenance and turf care contract. The park trust will have field maintenance specifications available on 2/11/09 for interested bidders.
6.) 2008 custodial services for the park will be paid by the park trust. Mike M. will present this expense to the budget committee for 2009.
